Philly Cheesesteak Casserole

Ingredients:

1 lb (450 g) ground beef or thinly sliced steak

1 medium onion, chopped

1 green bell pepper, chopped

1 cup mushrooms, sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup shredded provolone or cheddar cheese

4 oz (120 g) cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup heavy cream

2 large eggs

2 tbsp olive oil or butter

1 tsp salt (or to taste)

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp paprika (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven: Set to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.

2. Cook the beef/steak: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef (or sliced steak) and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.

3. Sauté vegetables: Add onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, and garlic to the skillet. Cook until softened (about 5–6 minutes). Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.

4. Prepare the creamy mixture: In a bowl, whisk together cream cheese, heavy cream, and eggs until smooth.

5. Assemble casserole: Spread the beef and vegetable mixture evenly in the baking dish. Pour the cream mixture over it.

6. Add cheese: Sprinkle mozzarella and provolone (or cheddar) evenly on top.

7. Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden.

8. Serve: Let it cool slightly, then serve hot.
