Instructions:
1. Prepare the Dough:
In a large bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
Add the egg, oil (or melted butter), salt, and flour gradually. Mix until it forms a soft, non-sticky dough.
Knead for about 8–10 minutes by hand or 5 minutes with a stand mixer.
Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
2. Prepare the Filling:
In a bowl, mix the shredded cheese and chopped ham together.
3. Shape the Rolls:
Divide the dough into 2 or 3 parts. Roll each into a thin circle.
Cut each circle into triangles (like pizza slices).
Place some filling at the wide end of each triangle and roll them up like croissants.
4. Final Rise:
Place them on a greased or parchment-lined baking tray.
Cover with a towel and let them rise for 30 minutes.
5. Bake:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Brush the tops with egg yolk for a shiny golden finish.
Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.
6. Serve:
Let them cool slightly before serving. Perfect warm with tea or as a snack!
