Ingredients:
1.5 – 2 kg pork ribs (or beef ribs if preferred)
1 cup barbecue sauce
3 tbsp honey (or brown sugar)
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice)
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp chili powder (optional, for heat)
—
Preparation:
1. Prepare the ribs
Wash and pat dry the ribs. Remove the thin silver skin from the back of the ribs for better tenderness.
2. Make the marinade
In a bowl, mix barbecue sauce, honey, soy sauce, olive oil, vinegar, garlic, paprika, pepper, salt, and chili powder.
3. Marinate
Coat the ribs with the marinade, cover, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight gives the best flavor).
4. Cooking
Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F).
Place the ribs on a baking tray covered with foil. Cover with foil to keep them moist.
Bake for 2 hours until tender.
5. Glaze and finish
Remove the foil, brush with extra barbecue sauce, and bake for another 20 minutes at 200°C (390°F) until caramelized and sticky.
6. Serve
Cut into portions and serve hot with fries, mashed potatoes, or salad.
