Ingredients:

For the banana bread:

2–3 ripe bananas (mashed)

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)

3/4 cup white sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup milk (optional for moist texture)

1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)

For the caramel topping:

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 tbsp butter

2 tbsp milk or cream

1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

1. Prepare the banana bread:

1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease or line a loaf pan with parchment paper.

2. In a bowl, mash the bananas well.

3. In another large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy.

4. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla.

5. Stir in the mashed bananas.

6. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.

7. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the banana mixture. Add milk if using.

8. Pour the batter into the loaf pan.

9. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

10. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
