300g (about 10 oz) ground beef or ground chicken

1 can (400g) crushed tomatoes or tomato sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

1 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning

For the Spaghetti:

250g (about 9 oz) spaghetti

Water and salt for boiling

For the Béchamel Sauce (White Sauce):

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 cups (500ml) milk

Salt and pepper to taste

A pinch of nutmeg (optional)

1/2 cup grated cheese (like mozzarella or parmesan) – optional for mixing into the béchamel

For Topping:

1 cup shredded mozzarella or any melting cheese
