Ingredients:

6 large eggs

1 cup milk

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

6 slices of bread (cut into cubes)

1 ½ cups shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)

1 cup cooked sausage slices or crumbled sausage

1/2 cup diced tomatoes (optional)

1/2 cup chopped onion

1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper (optional)

1 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning

1 tablespoon butter (to grease the baking dish)

 

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

2. Grease a baking dish with butter.

3. Layer the bread cubes evenly in the bottom of the dish.

4. Sprinkle the cooked sausage, onions, tomatoes, and bell peppers over the bread.

5. Top with shredded cheese.

6. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and herbs.

7. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered ingredients in the dish.

8. Let it sit for 10 minutes (or refrigerate overnight for better texture).

9. Bake for 35–40 minutes or until golden brown and set in the middle.

10. Let it cool for 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving.
