Ingredients:
For the meat sauce:
1 lb (450 g) ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (24 oz / 680 g) jar of marinara sauce (or homemade tomato sauce)
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
For the cheese mixture:
15 oz (425 g) ricotta cheese
1 egg
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Other ingredients:
9 lasagna noodles (cooked or oven-ready)
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)
Fresh or dried parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Prepare the meat sauce:
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned.
Add chopped onions and garlic; sauté until soft.
Stir in marinara sauce, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
Let it simmer for 10–15 minutes.
3. Prepare the cheese mixture:
In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, 1/4 cup Parmesan, salt, and pepper until smooth.
4. Assemble the lasagna in a baking dish (9×13 inch or similar):
Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom.
Add a layer of lasagna noodles.
Spread some of the ricotta mixture.
Add a layer of meat sauce.
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese.
Repeat the layers (noodles, ricotta, meat sauce, mozzarella) until all ingredients are used.
Finish with a layer of sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan on top.
5. Bake for 30–40 minutes, until bubbly and golden on top.
6. Rest: Let it sit for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
