Ingredients:

For the meat sauce:

1 lb (450 g) ground beef

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 (24 oz / 680 g) jar of marinara sauce (or homemade tomato sauce)

2 tbsp tomato paste

1 tsp dried basil

1 tsp dried oregano

Salt and pepper to taste

Salt and pepper to taste

Other ingredients:

9 lasagna noodles (cooked or oven-ready)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)

Fresh or dried parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Prepare the meat sauce:

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned.

Add chopped onions and garlic; sauté until soft.

Stir in marinara sauce, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.

Let it simmer for 10–15 minutes.

3. Prepare the cheese mixture:

In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, 1/4 cup Parmesan, salt, and pepper until smooth.

4. Assemble the lasagna in a baking dish (9×13 inch or similar):

Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom.

Add a layer of lasagna noodles.

Spread some of the ricotta mixture.

Add a layer of meat sauce.

Sprinkle mozzarella cheese.

Repeat the layers (noodles, ricotta, meat sauce, mozzarella) until all ingredients are used.

Finish with a layer of sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan on top.

5. Bake for 30–40 minutes, until bubbly and golden on top.

6. Rest: Let it sit for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
